Recent announcement from the ACPGBI on Colorectal Surgery

Many of you may well have already seen the recent announcement for ACPGBI regarding the latest advice for colorectal surgeons. Please click here to read the full statement.

The main points to highlight are:

  • Acute surgery priority
  • Elective surgery may go ahead dependent on capacity
  • Surgeons to consider routine stoma formation to avoid readmission with post op complications

Obviously for us as Stoma Care Nurses, if more surgeons do opt for stoma formation, we may see our workload increase.
